Hello, again

Well, this is the first post in...rather a long time, hmm? I'll be quick about what's happened since the 7-minute screening in May and the Loomings awards.

We finally have a basically finished cut of the film. It took until October, then some more tweaks after that, and likely a few more after that November Cut. Of course we can never be satisfied, but we're trying our best! We've fulfilled about half of the perks (some of the more intensive ones, like mini posters and props, will be coming closer to when we [hopefully] get some festival acceptances- but ARE coming!). We're so incredibly grateful for the donations we received, and have been putting them to great use.
That reminds me! Yes, over the summer we mounted a prolonged campaign on IndieGoGo to raise funds for our push to festivals and the costs that would entail. Our goal was set at $1500; we were able to raise more than that! Which brings us to festivals- we've sent the film out to a lot of the late winter/early spring-screening fests and will continue to likely throughout 2013 to finish out one full festival year. We won't start hearing back until after the New Year, but we're so excited to see what's to come for our small but thought-provoking feature.
What else? Hmm. We showed the film at an invite-only screening of the rough cut in Asbury Park, NJ. We had official DVD covers made by artist Evan Bender, which went out with the perks DVDs. We made two trailers, an unofficial long-form one and the official short teaser that would be sent with the film to festivals if the film is accepted. The teaser uses a version of the song "Red Hands" by the indie rock band The Dear Hunter. They were incredibly gracious in donating the song to us at the very beginning of production to use however we wanted, and we realized that a trailer was the perfect way to showcase it. Their very kind manager thought the trailer was great and that the song was a good fit for the content. Please support this fantastic band: like them at their Facebook page and check out their official website.
Otherwise, it's a waiting game for news now. But our friend and Line Producer/Key Grip got his first acceptance to a film festival with his short thesis End of the Great American Businessman! He showed the film at the recent Williamsburg Independent Film Festival. I think we all have good news coming our way...
