A wild and wonderful weekend

This past weekend, January 27th and 28th, was our second shoot for 'Us & Them'. It was a more intensive shooting experience than the prom sequence, despite how of course that shoot was pretty tough emotionally and physically. We got a LOT done, and I totally credit the crew and cast with accomplishing what we did. At this point I'd say we have at least a quarter of the script done, maybe almost 1/3...after the next shoot we'll definitely have close to a half, at least. And that's pretty awesome for being a feature.
So, we shot at our producer Josh Paige's house, which doubled for Margot's house in the script. We did all of the scenes that took place at her house, which were numerous. On Friday Elizabeth came in late morning and from then until the evening (with breaks for lunch and sanity!) we did all of Margot's solo scenes in the house. Steve came in at night, and we began shooting the nighttime sequence with Cole and Margot at the house. With another break for dinner in there, we completed shooting at a reasonable hour, and got some rest. Nicely early the next morning we continued the sequence, where Cole wakes up at the house, having mistakenly passed out there the night before. Thus begins one of the craziest and most tense parts of the script, and one that the crew especially had been excited to shoot. Ian and Lauren got in, and we started going through the whole scene and rehearsing. It took a few hours (as it is SUCH an important scene in the film) but we finished, grabbed lunch, and continued on with Margot and Lauren's scenes. We even finished earlier than scheduled! Yes, they were two incredibly full days, and we were totally exhausted afterward, but it was really worth it for everything we got done and the experience of getting to spend the time together, crew-wise and cast-wise. I think it was a good time, and I got some great feedback after. I should be getting the footage tomorrow to review, and I absolutely cannot WAIT. Big ups to Elizabeth, Steve, Lauren, and Ian for all of the fantastic and emotional acting they did, the entire amazing crew for all of their extraordinary hard work, and the wonderful Paiges for letting us totally take over their home for a whole weekend.
Now, the next 2 weekends are 'Black Dawn' shooting. We've shot twice for the film now and it's going great! Also, 'Tilt of a Rose' is casting this weekend- I won't be present for that, but as production manager I'm really excited to see how it turns out! Next U&T shoot is the weekend of February 17th, "Cole's house" shoot in Connecticut. Excited.
